Independence Day Celebration

On account of Independence Day Celebration Rotary Club of Karkala conducted Traditional Dress Competition for Rotary families.Rotarian couples,Rotarians,Rotary Anns Rotaractors & Annets participated in large numbers.In the group of Rotary couples Rtn.PHF Ananthakrishna Achar & Ann Rajeshwari Achar secured 1st place with 48 points out of 50.Rtn PHF Ganesh Mallya was the Winner among Rotarians.Ann Laxmi Mallya,Ann Shashikala Gowda,& Ann Jyothi Shetty are the winners in the group of Anns,Annet Soubhagya Mallya in annets group& John Pratheek Shetty were the winners. Rtr.Ganesh was the winner in their group.Photos will be followed.

Health check up camp

Health check up camp was held in Rotary Bala Bhavana on 21-08-2015 from 9-45 A.M to 1 P.M conducted by Nutrition Expert Mr.Rajesh Shetty from Mumbai& Smt.Ashwini Shetty from Moodabidri sponsored by Rotary Club of Karkala. Prayer by Ann.Rajeshwari Achar.Welcome by Rotary Club President Rtn.Chandrashekar Hegde followed by Tips of Health check up by Rajesh Shetty.Community Director of the club Rtn.Hariprakash Shetty inaugurated the camp & expressed his good wishes. 55 men& women were scanned & got the report of scanning.Mr.Rajesh shetty Explained remedial measures for the health problems.Rotary club secetary Rtn. Padmaprasad proposed vote of thanks.

Nagarabavi Pond - Before and After cleaning

Swach Bharath - Cleaning of Nagara bavi 

On 6^th August 2015, the removal of salvenia from Nagarbhavi pond was taken up along with Rotract and Anns club. Mr.Rayappa Chief officer of Town Municipality was the chief guest. He assured fullest co-operation to this worthy project.

Rtn.PHF Tukaram Nayak spoke about swatch abhiyan. Rotary President Rtn.Chandrashekhar Hegde, Rotract President Ashok Suvarna, Ann’s President Vrindha Shetty Commity service Director Rtn Hariprakash Shetty and other Rotary and Rotract members were present.

On the same day Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Graminabhivridhi Yojana with Rotary club of Karkala conducted a program called “Swasthya Sankalpa” at KMES college Karkala. Rotary President Rtn.A.Chandrashekar Hegde presided over the function. Principal of KMES Prof.Ramchandra Nellikaru inaugurated by lighting the lamp. He called upon the students to actively participate in this program. 

Competitions for school children by Ann's Club 

Competitions were conducted for school children in Sri Sundara Puranik Memorial High School By Rotary Ann's Club on 9th August. The program was inaugurated by Rtn.PHF Ananthakrishna Achar & Ann's President Ann Vranda Shetty. Rtn.Achar addressed the children, this was followed by a group Song by students of Jaycees English Medium School. Competitions liking singing, painting, speech were held on this day. The winners of this programs will be facilitated in the next weekly meeting of Karkala Rotary Club

Swacha Bharath

On 7^th August 2015 Rotary club of Karkala handed over a newly built toilet to Smt.Asha and her family who were in urgent need of a toilet near their house. Rotary President Rtn. A.Chandrashekar Hegde handed over the key of toilet to the family. Rtn. Tukaram Nayak, Rtn. Mohan Padival, Rtn.Ananth Krishna Achar, Rtn.Prabhath Kumar, Rtn.Padmaprasad Jain, Rtn.Bharathraj, Local Muncipal Councellor Yogish Devadiga, Headmaster of Sri Bhujabali Oriental Primary School were Present.

New Member Induction

As August is month of Membership Development, two members were inducted.

An eminent personality in Rotary Dist. 3180 Rtn. PHF Abhinandan Shetty was the chief guest. Rtn. Amith Shetty introduced the chief guest. Membership development chairman Rtn. PHF Suvarna Nayak introduced the new members.

Rtn. Abhinandan spoke on Membership Development and retention of members. According to him induction of members in a club is very important , at the same time their retention is equally important. If the regular meetings are lively and the projects undertaken are worthy then only, the members will attend the meetings regularly.

We are very much happy that our membership has now reached to 98 and we are planning to take it to 100. 

Ann’s club installation

Ann’s club installation of Karkala club was held on 29^th July 2015. Ann Vrindha Shetty was inducted as president and Ann Vimala Shantappa as secretary of Ann’s club. Our DG Rtn. Dr. Bharathesh inducted the new office bearers. Sri Mudradi was the chief guest. 

A great visionary, people’s president, a person who always thought of younger generation Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is no more. A Rotarian who was closely associated with him, Rtn. E Janardhan spoke about Dr. Abdul Kalam.

Students of SNV High School, Jnanasudha PU College, Sundar Puranik Memorial High School, Govt. PU College Bajagoli, Govt. PU College Shirlal who have excelled in 10^th and 2^nd PU board exams were felicitated with a cash prize. Rotary Annet’s were also felicitated who have passed the board exam.
